The Barbershop Harmony Society 2021 Virtual Midwinter Convention from January 28 – 31, 2021 will be like nothing you’ve ever experienced before! This virtual event will capture your imagination and bring everything you love about Midwinter — the connection, the camaraderie, and the harmony — into the safety of your own home. The schedule offers plenty of activities packed into four days to watch, learn, meet, and interact, including nightly shows, keynote speakers, afterglow performances, and over 50 HU education sessions! You won’t want to miss impressive performances by Forefront, Half & Half, GQ, and The Ladies during these nightly shows!
In addition to all those activities, you will definitely want to explore the world. Each District, Alliance, and Subsidiary Organization, including the Cardinal District, has been given space in the virtual world to showcase its organization and host its own events. So spend some time wandering from room to room, learning about the different organizations that make up the BHS, sit in on some of their performances and educational sessions, and meet people from around the world. Don’t forget to stop by the Cardinal District space to say hello and see the work we have done over the past couple of months getting the area ready. If all of that is still not enough to keep you busy, you can always find space around the world to sit and chat, go boating, or play a game of soccer! I’m not kidding!

From my own experience in the virtual world, I can tell you that it is one of the easiest things to set up and navigate. You can watch the video tour to see how simple it really is. Install the application, create your avatar, and you are off to the races. You can navigate with your mouse or keyboard and interact with attendees just like you would in real life. It’s easy to use for everyone to the most tech-savvy to the least.
