Congratulations to Cardinal District’s own Forefront quartet, who won the 2016 International Barbershop Quartet contest in Nashville, Tenn. on July 9, 2016. They earned the #1 spot from a field of 58 quarter-finalist competitors. The initial field for the contest included more than 250 quartets from all over the U.S, Canada and several foreign countries.
Members of the quartet (pictured L to R) are: Drew Wheaton (tenor), Kevin Hughes (lead), Brian O’Dell (bass) and Aaron Hughes (baritone). They represent the Terre Haute and Louisville chapters of the Cardinal District and the Greater Central Ohio chapter of the Johnny Appleseed District of the Barbershop Harmony Society. This quartet was the Cardinal District Quartet Champion in 2010, the silver medalist quartet in the 2014 and 2015 International Quartet Contests and was named Cardinal District’s Quartet of the Year in 2010 and 2013.
